Settling In (Foreign language advice?)I got back from Turkey a little over a week ago but have yet to finish unpacking everything. I took nearly a thousand pictures and will start sorting through them all today, if my life goes as planned.
At the moment, I am in a lot of pain since my wisdom teeth were removed yesterday. I never want to see another fruit smoothie in my life, but alas, my mom is freaking out about nutrition. I have also never wanted to brush my teeth so badly in my life, but I'm worried I might disrupt the stitches. I think I need to wait a day or so, according to the surgeon.
That's pretty much it. I haven't started packing for college, so when I ran into a bunch of my old classmates at Starbucks, I discovered I was the only person who had yet to start shopping for dorm stuff. Oh well. I can't go out in the public for another few days, so I have no idea why I'm worrying about it now.
I hope all of you are well. I saw Harry Potter #6 and hated it, but I was expecting to hate it, so it's not the end of the world.
Finally, I need to fulfill a foreign language requirement and have narrowed my choices down to Arabic, Portuguese, and Russian. I was all for taking Swahili until my mom told me not to be stupid. Honestly, I think she doesn't feel comfortable with me potentially returning to Africa. French is also in the running, but I'm taking a break from the language because of my bad experiences with French in high school. Anyway, there is a point to this mess of a paragraph. Have any of you taken any of the mentioned languages/know someone who has? Did you/they like it?
